Role Overview
We are looking for a reliable and organized Cook to prepare meals, maintain a clean and safe kitchen, and ensure residents receive quality food service every day. This role requires strong time management, attention to food safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase groceries and kitchen supplies according to the approved menu and budget while managing inventory throughout the month
- Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the facility menu
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, pantry, and dining preparation areas
- Monitor food inventory and purchase supplies as needed
- Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store all groceries and food items
- Follow all food handling, sanitation, and public health regulations
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and maintain kitchen equipment
What We're Looking For
- Experience in commercial kitchens, supportive housing, healthcare, or long-term care is an asset
- Food Handler Certification is required
- Valid G or G2 driver's licence is required
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards
- Professional, respectful, and compassionate when interacting with residents and staff
