Mammography Technologist Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate imaging results that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of breast-related conditions.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Ensure the proper positioning of patients to obtain optimal images while minimizing discomfort.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively when communicating with patients and healthcare staff.
- Perform daily quality control.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the maintenance and quality control of mammography equipment.
- Provide education and support to patients regarding the mammography process and follow-up procedures.
Qualifications
- Must have current CMRITO and CAMRT registration
- Certified with Ontario Breast Screening Program required
- Mammography I, Mammography II Courses, Specialty certification in Breast Imaging preferred
- Familiarity with PACS
- Recent experience within the last two years
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to organize work load effectively
- Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with the clinical educators
- Physical ability to perform the expected job duties
- Knowledge of CAR Mammography Accreditation program an asset
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Effective decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Positive work attitude: professionalism, reliability, punctuality, and flexibility are absolutely essential.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $40.00-$48.00 per hour
