Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment operation, safety protocols, and mechanical knowledge to ensure efficient and safe operations on the job site. This position reports to the Foreman/Supervisor on site.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as graders, bulldozers, loaders, and excavators to perform tasks including digging, building, and moving materials.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and report any malfunctions or issues to supervisors.
- Utilize farm machinery as needed for agricultural projects, demonstrating versatility in equipment operation.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment handling techniques and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Underground civil experience is an asset.
- "Hands-On" experience on multiple pieces of heavy equipment.
- 1 Year minimum experience on a specific piece of heavy equipment.
- Valid commercial driving license is preferred but not mandatory.
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A commitment to safety and adherence to all operational guidelines.
