Job Title: Warehouse Clerk (Forklift Knowledge Preferred)

Employment Type: Temporary (Potential for Full-Time Conversion)
Pay Rate: $19 CAD per hour
Job Summary
We are hiring a Warehouse Clerk with exposure to dispatch, logistics coordination, and warehouse operations. This role combines administrative control with floor-level execution—ideal for candidates who understand both documentation and movement of goods. Forklift (sit-down counterbalance) knowledge is considered an asset.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and drivers
- Plan and support shipment routing, load optimization, and load tendering
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delivery issues or delays
- Communicate effectively with warehouse teams, carriers, and customers
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and manage shipping documents including:
- BOL (Bill of Lading)
- POD (Proof of Delivery)
- Manifests and regulatory paperwork
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Procurement & Carrier Management
- Assist in RFQs (Request for Quotations)
- Support carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, and cost tracking
- Maintain and update transportation records and vendor databases
Systems & Reporting
- Utilize WMS/TMS systems for tracking shipments and inventory
- Manage email communication and maintain records using Microsoft Excel
- Generate reports related to shipment performance and cost tracking
Warehouse Support
- Assist with general warehouse operations as needed
- Operate sit-down counterbalance forklift (if licensed)
- Handle materials and support physical tasks including lifting when required
Requirements
- Experience in warehousing, dispatch, or logistics coordination
- Knowledge of shipment routing, load planning, and carrier coordination
- Familiarity with RFQs, rate negotiation, and cost control
- Strong understanding of shipping/receiving documentation (BOL, POD, etc.)
- Proficiency in WMS/TMS systems, Microsoft Excel, and email communication
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy
- Forklift (sit-down counterbalance) experience or license is an asset
- Physically capable of lifting and moving materials
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50-$19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
