GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Junior Accounting Associate is responsible for bookkeeping, preparing clients’ financial statements and tax returns and complying with clients’ statutory filing requirements.
MAJOR TASKS & DUTIES:
- Roll forward accounting files from previous year
- Set up financial statements and enter opening balances
- Prepare client accounting records
- Prepare review/compilation plans and update ongoing clients
- Participate in field work for audits and reviews
- Prepare year-end financial statements and related working papers for reviews and compilations
- Prepare Corporate and Personal income tax returns; Trust, Not for Profit, and other information returns and schedules
- Prepare clients’ payroll
- Government remittances – including GST, PST, PD7A & WCB
- Prepare transmittal documentations for government agencies and clients
- Provide bookkeeping services to clients
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Education
Completion of bachelor’s degree and enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accountants Association program of studies, or the equivalent in a recognized accounting program, community college or university.
Experience:
Minimum of one year experience in public accounting
Knowledge & Skills:
- Above average working knowledge of computers and their operations
- In depth knowledge of working paper software programs such as Caseware
- Good Working knowledge of accounting software programs such as:
- QuickBooks
- Simply Accounting
- Good working knowledge of other software programs such as:
- Microsoft Excel
- Word

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
