We are seeking a skilled Drywall Finisher and Plasterer to join our construction team on Vancouver Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for finishing drywall, applying plaster, and ensuring smooth, professional surfaces on various construction projects. This role requires attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in construction, painting, and handyman tasks is highly valued to support a wide range of project needs.
Duties
- Finish drywall by sanding, taping, and applying joint compound to achieve a seamless surface
- Apply plaster to walls and ceilings, ensuring proper adhesion and smooth finish
- Caulk joints and seams for weatherproofing and aesthetic purposes
- Read blueprints and technical drawings to accurately execute project specifications
- Prepare surfaces prior to finishing by cleaning and patching imperfections
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during finishing processes
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpenters and painters to complete projects efficiently
- Perform handyman tasks as needed to support overall project completion
Requirements
- Proven experience in drywall finishing, plastering, or related construction work
- Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various construction environments
- Handyman experience is a plus for supporting diverse project needs
- Good physical stamina with the ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods
- Reliable work ethic with a commitment to safety standards
Pay: $37.00 per hour
