Reporting to the Manager or designate, the Infant Mental Health Team Lead is responsible for developing and administering the Infant Mental Health (IMH) Program including planning, organizing, coordinating and monitoring both the daily and long term operational responsibilities of the Program. The Team Lead, in collaboration with the IMH staff, ensures the provision of assessment, consultation, treatment and connection to other relevant supports; ensuring a child focused, women centered, family oriented approach is embedded in all Program areas. The Team Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key partners, local agencies, and groups in the community in order to support and promote the IMH Program. The Team Lead also provides clinical services and direct treatment on an individual and/or group basis in order to support the caregiver/child relationship and promote healthy development and positive psychosocial outcomes for children participating in service. The Team Lead will also act as a resource by assisting families to utilize social systems and medical care in order to achieve their optimal level of health.
Travels to other sites throughout Island Health and other health care provider sites as required. Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.
