Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating commercial trucks to transport freight across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, freight handling, and vehicle maintenance, contributing to the efficient and safe movement of goods.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks for local and regional freight deliveries
- Load/Unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation
- Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and mill staff.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Experience
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for Class 1 vehicles
- Proven experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields
- Super B Experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for heavy equipment operation and transportation. This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of our logistics operations while ensuring the safe handling of freight.
Pay: $33.30-$49.95 per hour
