Reporting to the Supervisor, Building Maintenance, the Terminal Facilities Support provides general facilities and infrastructure support to assist airport operations and maintenance activities. The role focuses on completing a variety of small‑scale, routine, and ad‑hoc tasks to support safe, efficient, and presentable terminal and airport facilities in both public and restricted areas. The position works closely with Building Maintenance and Electrical teams and responds to changing operational needs as required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assist Building Maintenance and Electrical teams with day‑to‑day facility support and minor maintenance tasks.
- Complete a wide range of small repairs, adjustments, and general maintenance activities across terminal and airport facilities.
- Perform routine inspections of terminal spaces and infrastructure, identify deficiencies, and reporting issues as required.
- Carry out basic maintenance tasks related to building finishes, fixtures, furnishings, doors, hardware, minor plumbing and common areas.
- Support the setup, movement, and removal of furniture, barriers, signage, and equipment.
- Respond to service requests and work orders, completing tasks independently or in support of other trades.
- Perform general labour duties including cleaning, patching, minor painting, and basic repairs as required.
- Pick up and deliver supplies, materials, and tools across airport facilities.
- Assist with inventory handling, surplus disposal, and workspace organization.
- Follow all airport safety, security, and operational procedures, including working in public and restricted areas.
- Complete required training and maintain required certifications.
- Perform other related duties to support airport operations, as assigned.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
- Completion of a recognized post‑secondary program in facilities maintenance, building trades, construction, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Two to four years of experience performing building operations, facilities maintenance, general maintenance, or similar support based work in a commercial, institutional, or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of basic maintenance, repair, and general labour tasks across building and facility environments.
- Working knowledge of building systems, facility operations, and safe work practices.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently or as part of a team in a fast paced operational environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple small tasks and respond to changing priorities.
- Basic computer skills, including use of work order systems, data entry, and email (experience with a computerized maintenance management system is an asset).
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and working in both public and restricted areas.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC) and other airport related permits or access credentials, as required.
- Availability to work overtime and respond to operational needs outside regular hours, as required.
