We are seeking an experienced and motivated Land Development Project Manager to join a growing team in Edmonton. This role is ideal for a professional with direct experience in the land development industry who is passionate about transforming concepts into thriving communities.
The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial planning through construction completion, working closely with consultants, municipalities, contractors, and internal stakeholders. This position requires strong project management capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of land development and construction projects from concept through completion.
- Assess project feasibility at each stage of development and evaluate overall project viability.
- Collaborate with planners, engineers, surveyors, legal advisors, and other consultants to prepare statutory documents and municipal applications.
- Manage municipal approval processes, including zoning, subdivision, development permits, and engineering approvals.
- Develop construction execution strategies, including tender preparation, contractor selection, and contract negotiations.
- Review and analyze tender submissions and provide recommendations.
- Coordinate and oversee consultants, contractors, engineers, planners, and other project stakeholders.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide regular project updates and reporting to management, sales, and finance teams.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
- Prepare project analyses, reports, presentations, and supporting documentation for stakeholders.
- Maintain project contracts, financial records, and development documentation.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Planning, Business, Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in land development with demonstrated project management success.
- Strong understanding of municipal approval processes, development regulations, and construction practices.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe products.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to travel to project sites and conduct field inspections as required.
