Assistant Manager – Toronto Pearson Airport (Terminal 3)
Salary: $23.00–$25.00 per hour
Excess Baggage Company is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Toronto Pearson Airport locations, with a primary focus on Terminal 3.
This role works closely with the Branch Manager, who is based in Terminal 1, and is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and strong team performance. The successful candidate will act as the primary leadership presence at Terminal 3 and help drive consistency across both locations.
Responsibilities
- Support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operation of Terminal 1 and Terminal 3
- Act as the primary operational leader for Terminal 3
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to Supervisors and Customer Service Representatives
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and customer service standards are consistently followed
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development
- Participate in scheduling, payroll administration, and attendance management
- Conduct interviews and assist with hiring decisions
- Manage customer concerns and escalations professionally and effectively
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve results
- Complete operational audits, inventory counts, and store inspections
- Ensure proper cash handling, deposit procedures, and loss prevention practices
- Maintain communication between both terminal locations and support company initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in retail, hospitality, airport operations, or customer service
- Previous experience supervising and developing teams
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Experience with scheduling, payroll, and employee coaching
- Experience conducting interviews and onboarding new employees
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and inventory management
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Bilingual proficiency is considered an asset
