NEW VACANCY
Utilizes various types of manual controlled machine shop equipment (i.e. Cylindrical and Surface Grinding, Burring,Lathes, Honing, etc.) to perform machining operations on materials including, but not limited to steel, aluminum, stainless steel, brass, bronze.
Works from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, drawings and blueprints; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work and tooling.
- Uses a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings.
- Improvises production aides as necessary to facilitate operations.
Reworks and calibrates production parts or assemblies and machine tooling as required; checks each component for accuracy as they come off of the machine.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all applicable safety requirements and considerations.
- Provides all required reports and/or correspondence.
- Performs other related duties and assigned by Supervisor.
- Operate manual lathes, mills, and grinders.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Produce high-quality parts and components according to specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment.
- Ensure all work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of work, including measurements and materials used.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues.
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy.
- Set up and adjust machinery for different tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor junior machinists as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and request supplies as needed.
- Assist in the development of new machining techniques.
- Provide feedback on design and manufacturing processes.
