Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing excellent patient service, and supporting the administrative functions of the office. This role offers an opportunity to work in a friendly environment where attention to detail and strong communication skills are highly valued. Prior experience with dental office procedures is required , along with familiarity with electronic dental records systems. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently check them in and out of the office
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Abeldent and Max Assist
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, direct calls, and handle appointment requests
- Collect patient information, verify insurance details, and update electronic medical records accurately
- Assist patients with billing questions and process payments at the front desk
- Maintain organized files and ensure confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clinical staff by coordinating patient flow and preparing necessary documentation
- Handle administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, and correspondence related to patient care
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, welcoming, and professional at all times
Requirements
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a dental office setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Abeldent is a plus
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic dental records systems
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently and professionally
- Office experience with administrative duties including scheduling, billing, and data entry and dental insurance understanding
- Familiarity with front desk operations in a healthcare environment
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards is desirable
