Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Opening/Closing Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen during opening and closing shifts. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent food safety practices, and experience working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Opening Shifts require weekend availability starting at 8:00 am tom 4:00 pm.
Closing Shifts require availability on Monday and Tuesday nights from 4:00 pm to 12:00 am
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards during opening and closing shifts
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food handling and food safety regulations
- Assist with meal preparation, plating, and presentation to maintain quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
- Serve customers efficiently when required, providing excellent food service
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs for upcoming shifts
- Follow proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure safety compliance
- Support team members in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment
Experience
- Prior experience in a restaurant or food service setting is preferred, especially in cooking or kitchen roles
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal assembly, and cooking methods
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with serving customers in a fast-paced environment is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently during early morning or evening hours as part of opening or closing shifts
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and cleanliness
Pay: $16.20-$17.50 per hour
