Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchaser to join our team. This position requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of supply chain dynamics, and the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
Duties
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to purchasing materials required for construction.
- Utilize Management systems to forecast demand and ensure timely procurement.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure favorable contracts.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Maintain relationships with existing vendors while exploring new sourcing opportunities.
- Collaborate with production teams to understand material needs and timelines for construction.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding purchasing practices.
Skills
- Proficiency in MRP systems and other procurement software.
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to secure competitive pricing.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of mechanical contracting.
- Experience in vendor management, including evaluating supplier performance.
- Ability to effectively source materials and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills for assessing market trends and making informed purchasing decisions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.
