Position Summary
The Speeders Maintenance Staff is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and reliability of the facility, attractions, and equipment. This role performs preventative maintenance, routine inspections, minor repairs, and supports the overall operation of the building to minimize downtime and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The Speeders Maintenance Staff works closely with management to identify maintenance needs, complete repairs, and coordinate larger projects when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Maintenance
- Perform routine inspections of the building, attractions, and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Complete general repairs including painting, drywall patching, minor carpentry, fixture repairs, and hardware replacement.
- Perform basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, toilet components, and clearing minor drain blockages.
- Replace light bulbs, batteries, and other building components as required.
- Assemble, install, move, or repair furniture, shelving, fixtures, and equipment.
Preventative Maintenance
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on attractions, arcade games, building systems, and facility equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Identify potential issues before they become operational problems.
- Report maintenance concerns requiring specialized repairs or outside contractors.
Equipment & Building Support
- Perform minor repairs to arcade games and attractions.
- Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of karting equipment as assigned.
- Monitor the condition of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems, reporting deficiencies to management.
- Coordinate with external contractors when directed.
Safety
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies.
- Identify and address hazards that could impact guests or employees.
- Properly operate, maintain, and store all tools and equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues affecting facility operations or guest safety.
Inventory & Organization
- Maintain an organized maintenance workspace.
- Monitor maintenance supplies and advise management when materials or replacement parts are needed.
- Maintain company tools and equipment in good working condition.
Team Support
- Assist departments with maintenance-related requests.
- Support facility improvements, renovations, and special projects.
- Communicate completed work, outstanding repairs, and maintenance priorities with management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related field is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor repairs independently.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding work.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors as required.
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment.
