Experience Level: Senior / Lead
About Us
Iacobelli Law Firm is an established, highly reputable personal injury law firm dedicated to providing exceptional advocacy and compassionate service to our clients. Over the years, we have built a powerful brand, a stellar team, and a proven file-generation engine.
As we continue to grow, we frequently encounter clients facing wrongful dismissal and other employment challenges. To complement our successful personal injury practice, we are launching a dedicated Employee-Side Employment Law Practice Group. We are looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial lawyer to take the reins as the Principal Lawyer and build this practice area from the ground up, with the full backing of our established firm.
The Opportunity
Think of this as the ultimate "firm-within-a-firm" opportunity. If you have dreamed of running your own practice but want to skip the financial risk, administrative headache, and the uphill battle of brand-building, this role is for you.
You will have the autonomy to lead, manage, and grow the employment law sector while leveraging Iacobelli Law Firm’s existing infrastructure, stellar reputation, marketing power, and steady stream of incoming employment law inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Practice Leadership: Serve as the Principal Lawyer and visionary for the newly created employment law practice group.
- File Management: Oversee and manage employee-side employment law files from initial consultation through to resolution (including wrongful dismissal, severance package reviews, constructive dismissal, and workplace harassment).
- Growth & Strategy: Collaborate with our leadership team to develop and execute marketing strategies, maximizing our proven ability to bring in high-value employment files.
- Team Building: Manage, mentor, and eventually scale a support team as the practice area expands.
- Advocacy: Represent clients authoritatively at mediations, tribunals, and court proceedings.
What We Are Looking For
- Credentials: Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
- Experience: Solid experience in employment law, with a strong emphasis on employee-side representation and wrongful dismissal.
- Mindset: An ambitious self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who views this as a long-term career-defining opportunity.
- Leadership: A natural leader with the confidence to run a practice area independently while collaborating effectively with the broader Iacobelli team.
- Location Flex: Ability to work out of both our Toronto and Richmond Hill offices as required.
What We Offer
- The Best of Both Worlds: The freedom and upside of your own practice, combined with the security, resources, and collaborative culture of an established firm.
- Built-in Client Pipeline: Immediate access to a firm with a proven track record of generating high-quality leads and files.
- Lucrative Compensation: A competitive base structure with highly rewarding contingency fee opportunities and performance incentives that reflect your growth and success.
- Full Administrative Support: Access to our top-tier infrastructure, technology, and support staff so you can focus on practicing law.
- Reputation: Join a firm recognized for its ethics, client-first approach, and legal excellence.
