Job description
Reports to: Foreman
Start Date: As soon as possible
Primary Role: The Shipping and Receiving Lead is responsible for the general duties required within the facility using qualified Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise shipping personnel.
- Loading & unloading of trucks.
- Inspecting, packaging, and storing of products to be shipped.
- Inspecting, un-packaging, and storing of products received.
- Accurately measuring and cutting of materials.
- Accountable for inventory counts and product storage.
- Assist the machinists & welders as requested.
- Ensure machines are kept in clean and orderly condition.
- Responsible for daily safety checks of the loader and cranes.
- Ensure the warehouse, equipment and supplies are maintained in a safe and clean working order.
- Commitment to safe work practices including: safe handling of products; ergonomically correct lifting techniques; work space free of potential hazards; immediate reporting of and corrective action taken for any incidents; proper identification of all hazardous materials at the worksite; proper and safe stacking and storage of products within the warehouse areas.
- Maintain a proactive approach when completing assigned tasks.
- All other duties which may be assigned based on the company's requirements.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driver's abstract is considered an asset
- Minimum of 1-year warehouse work experience with minimal supervision
- Prior supervisory or team lead experience is considered an asset
- Forklift/loader operation experience is considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge required
Physical Demands
- Lift / Carry weights to 75 lbs.
- Push / Pull weights to 150 lbs.
Time Commitment Expectations
- Typical day shift commencement 8am to 4:30pm; Monday through Friday.
- Typical afternoon shift commencement 4:00pm to 2:30am; Monday through Thursday.
- Earlier (or later) shift overtime may occur due to mfg projects required delivery dates.
- Saturday / Sunday shift overtime may occur due to mfg projects required delivery dates.
- After hours 'on call' duties required on an as needed basis.
Compensation
- $24 to $27 per hour
- Monthly incentive pay (bonus) is available with this position, based on shop operations performance and paid out as operational targets are met.
