Company Description
Certified Building Systems (CBS), established in 2010 and based in Mississauga, Ontario, is a full-service mechanical organization providing comprehensive HVAC maintenance, mechanical and plumbing services, building automation, energy management, rebate support, and retrofit solutions across multiple industry sectors throughout Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex HVAC, mechanical, and building systems projects
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and resources from kickoff to close-out
- Coordinate internal CBS teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants
- Oversee installation of chillers, boilers, cooling towers, BAS, piping, and related systems
- Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, codes, and safety requirements
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions
- Manage change orders, contract administration, and cost control
- Maintain strong client relationships and represent CBS in meetings
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, commissioning plans, and turnover documentation
- Support quality assurance and commissioning activities
- Mentor Project Managers and support continuous improvement within the team
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 8–10+ years of project management experience in mechanical/HVAC construction, with a focus on commercial and high-rise buildings
- Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS, and mechanical installations
- Trade background in HVAC, plumbing, or pipefitting considered an asset

- Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience
