We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Home Support Worker (NOC 44101) to assist an elderly family member with daily living and safety needs. The role also includes after-school supervision of a 10-year-old child and light household support.
This is a full-time, permanent position (30–40 hours per week) and may be live-in or live-out. If live-in, a private furnished bedroom is provided at no cost.
Location: Maple, Ontario (L6A 0B9)
Starting Wage: $22.00 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible
Primary Duties – Elder Care
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Assist with mobility and safe movement around the home
- Support with meal preparation and daily routines
- Provide light assistance with non-medical activities of daily living
- Monitor general well-being and maintain a safe environment
- Light housekeeping related to the senior’s living areas
Secondary Duties – Child (10 years old)
- Provide after-school supervision
- Prepare snacks and simple meals
- Assist with homework and structured routines
- Maintain a safe, calm environment
- Light tidying of the child’s areas
General Household Support
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Basic meal preparation for the family
- Assist with grocery lists or simple local errands
- Support care of household pet (dog)
Requirements
- Secondary school completion
- Experience as a home support worker, caregiver, or related role
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain immediately
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and ability to use a personal or employer-provided vehicle for errands
- Ability to communicate in Hindi or Gujarati, due to the senior’s language needs
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Comfortable with pets
- Willing to work live-in or live-out
