TNAADO INC is a media and technology company that serves the Greater Toronto Area with innovative technology solutions, local press features, and community initiatives.
Our newsroom, home to The Dispatch and The Show, covers the people, events, businesses, and stories shaping the city. We aim to tell real Toronto founder's stories and experiences. We're a small and fast-moving team, and every reporter here has a real byline and a real say in what we cover.
We're looking for a Senior Reporter who is proactive and can chase leads in reporting original feature spotlight pieces and news coverage for the Dispatch's written publication and potentially work on the broadcast. You'll pitch and drive your own stories about local Toronto businesses and founders from idea to publication, mentor junior reporters, and help set the editorial bar for our team.
- Independently pitch, research, report, and write feature-length and breaking news stories
- Conduct original interviews and source-building; verify claims to newsroom fact-checking standards
- Mentor and edit copy from junior reporters and contributors
- Collaborate with editors on angle, structure, and publication scheduling
- Ensure all reporting meets legal and defamation standards prior to publication
- Represent TNAADO's editorial voice across print and multimedia formats
- 4+ years of professional reporting experience, ideally with published long-form or investigative work
- Demonstrated ability to build sources and break original stories
- Strong command of CP style, journalistic ethics, and Canadian media law fundamentals
- Helps to have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a strong portfolio
Nice to have:
- Experience mentoring or editing junior writers
- Multimedia or on-camera reporting experience
- A portfolio that shows range: hard news, feature writing, and profile work
$58,000–$95,000 CAD/year, based on experience.
Full-time, hybrid (Toronto-based).
Pay: $58,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
