Galaxy Freightline Inc. is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our afternoon shift operations at our busy Mississauga cross-dock facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing warehouse operations during our evening transportation window. The successful candidate will lead a team, manage freight movement, ensure operational priorities are met, and maintain a safe and efficient warehouse environment.

About the Role
Galaxy Freightline operates a high-volume cross-dock facility handling:
- Less-than-Truckload (LTL) freight
- Full Truckload (FTL) freight
- Freight consolidation and deconsolidation
- 53' dry vans
- Rail containers
- Straight trucks
The Afternoon Shift Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operations from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, ensuring freight continues to move efficiently after the daytime operations team has completed their shift.
This position works closely with the Chief Operating Officer, Operations Manager, Customer Service Manager, Claims Representative, Dispatch, and Drivers to ensure freight is handled safely, accurately, and on schedule.
What You'll Do
As Warehouse Supervisor, Afternoon Shift, you will:
- Lead and supervise afternoon/evening warehouse operations.
- Manage warehouse employees, forklift operators, and dock staff.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight movement.
- Oversee LTL and FTL freight handling.
- Manage freight consolidation and deconsolidation activities.
- Ensure trailers are loaded and unloaded safely and efficiently.
- Prioritize freight based on operational requirements and departure schedules.
- Maintain warehouse organization and productivity.
- Ensure freight is properly staged for overnight and next-day operations.
- Coach, train, and develop warehouse employees.
- Promote a strong safety culture.
- Monitor freight quality and prevent damage.
- Address operational issues and escalate when required.
- Complete end-of-shift communication and reporting.
- Ensure a smooth handoff to the next operating period.
Leadership Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Providing direction and support to warehouse employees.
- Assigning daily tasks and priorities.
- Monitoring employee performance and productivity.
- Coaching employees to improve performance.
- Promoting accountability and teamwork.
- Ensuring employees follow company procedures.
- Supporting employee training and development.
Safety & Quality Responsibilities
You will:
- Maintain a safe working environment.

- Monitor safe forklift and equipment operation.
- Ensure proper PPE usage.
- Investigate freight damage and operational issues.
- Identify opportunities to reduce handling errors.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and organization.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of warehouse experience within transportation or logistics.
- 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience in a cross-dock environment.
- Experience handling LTL freight.
- Strong understanding of freight movement and warehouse operations.
- Ability to work independently and make operational decisions.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing a transportation warehouse team.
- Experience with freight consolidation/deconsolidation.
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Forklift certification.
- TDG certification.
