Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Prep Cook and Dishwasher to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting overall food service. Ideal candidates will have a passion for the food industry, excellent food handling skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure proper food handling and storage procedures are followed to uphold food safety standards
- Help with restocking supplies and organizing kitchen stations for efficient workflow
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during food service operations
- Support the serving staff with timely delivery of prepared dishes when needed
- Contribute to a positive team environment by maintaining a professional attitude and working collaboratively
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with food handling procedures and food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant or kitchen setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and bending as required
