Evolution Wheel is looking for a candidate who can work with our managers and engineering team to develop 3D models of new product, injection mold tooling and manufacturing jigs and fixtures. The company is kicking off a new project that is needing us to expand our team and have more 3D modeling capacity, experience with Inventor modeling software is a must.
As the project develops the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to conduct field testing and data collection. The results of these tests will be reported to management, designs will be iterated and product improved based on the field testing results.
Responsibilities:
- Work with leadership team and managers to develop 3D models of new product based on direction from the engineering team using Inventor modeling software.
- Validate fit and function of the designs taking into consideration manufacturing and assembly clearances and tolerances.
- Research different material properties for different grades of aluminum and steel.
- Design and develop manufacturing fixtures and jigs based on direction from the manufacturing manager.
- Conduct field and lab testing to determine product function, performance and reliability.
- Keep data collection and project records and report them to the R&D team and leadership.
Requirements:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution is required
- Knowledge in 3D Modelling Software is required AutoCad Inventor preferred
- Computer literacy (Office Suite and AutoCAD)
- Engineering design experience in a manufacturing industry would be an asset
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes would be an asset
- High mechanical aptitude with exceptional ability and hands on experience, attention to detail
- Demonstrate leadership, organizational and planning skills, including problem solving
- Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
