The Position:
The Shipper/Driver will work under the supervision and direction of the shipping lead hand. This individual is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of company products, materials and documentation to customers, and suppliers. This position primarily performs local deliveries within the surrounding regions, with the potential of expanding deliveries to other areas. When driving duties are not required, the Shipper/Driver supports the Shipping department by preparing, processing and coordinating outbound shipments, ensuring all products are packaged, handled and shipped accurately, safely and on time.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with all applicable traffic laws and company policies.
- Load, secure, transport and unload products and materials safely to prevent damage.
- Ensure accuracy of all deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
- Pick and package outgoing shipments
- Assist with loading, unloading, packing or warehouse duties when delivery schedules permit.
- Involved in the monitoring and handling of shop supplies and floor stock
- Use of computers to assist in material handling

- Proven organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
Requirements:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract (Drivers Abstract required)
- Previous commercial or delivery driving experience an asset.
- Previous warehouse experience an asset.
- Ability to use power tools – table saw, chop saw, power saw, nail gun, skill saw etc.
- Ability to build pallets and/or crates
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
- Must be able to stoop, kneel and crouch at times to perform assigned tasks

- Must be able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Must adhere to all safety practices and procedures and work in a safe manner at all times
- Shift work may be required and should be available to work overtime if requested.
