Are you interested in championing the well-being of older adults in your community?
The Hamilton Council on Aging (HCoA) is seeking candidates to join its Board of Directors. We are seeking individuals who share our vision of advancing positive aging, promoting the health, well-being and social participation of ALL older adults so they may live well as vital and integral members of their community, and individuals who are committed to offering their knowledge and expertise in support of this vision.
The Opportunity: HCoA is seeking three (3) directors who can apply leadership, professional insight, and strategic, innovative thinking to further our work.
About the Hamilton Council on Aging: The HCoA is a non-profit charitable organization that was founded in 2005. Collaboration is a cornerstone of the work of the HCoA, with individuals, community and government organizations, businesses, and decision makers working collectively to improve life for ALL older adults. We have developed strong partnerships with individuals and groups, whom we recognize have shared goals and aspirations to create community that values and supports older adults and their contributions. We believe that with increased knowledge of what is happening in our community and by developing an understanding of the assets we collectively possess, we will continue to improve how we work together to respond and address the needs of older adults – and to the community at large.
We welcome applications from all interested parties; however, we are specifically seeking directors with expertise in the following professional backgrounds: Fundraising; Finance and Accounting; General Governance.
Director Responsibilities: Directors are expected to stay informed about issues related to older adults and aging, participate in the work of committees, and actively support the fundraising efforts and events of the organization.
Membership requires a minimum commitment of three (3) hours per month, including attendance at monthly meetings of the Board and participation on Committees of the Board. Directors are elected to hold office for a three (3) year term. Work of the HCoA is conducted in a hybrid manner.
