Part-time piano and theory teaching position
Songhua Studios offers high-quality piano and music theory lessons. Lesson plans are catered to each students unique needs. We aim to make learning the piano an enjoyable experience for students of all ages and skill levels, providing lessons in the comfort of their homes, both in-person and online.
Location: Primarily Mississauga, Brampton, and Oakville in the Region of Peel
Expected Start Date: Between July 1 and the first week of September
Schedule: Mon–Fri 3–9pm, Sat 10am–6pm (flexible within these hours); commitment to weekly teaching September–June, with optional summer lessons.
Responsibilities:
- Teach weekly piano/music theory lessons (in-person and occasional online)
- Plan engaging lessons and prepare students for exams, festivals, and recitals
- Travel to students' homes (up to ~20km/day)
- Provide feedback notes and write yearly report cards
Requirements:
- G2/G license and reliable car (in-person); 88-key piano, internet, and webcam (online)
- RCM Level 8+ or equivalent; teaching experience/pedagogy training preferred
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check and SIN

Compensation: Starting at $30/hour plus mileage and bonuses, with flexible scheduling and self-employment perks.
