Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) – Casual (Weekend Availability Required)

The Oshawa Clinic Group is currently seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This is a casual position requiring flexibility for both weekday and weekend shifts. Hours will vary depending on office and urgent care staffing needs, and may include daytime, evening, and weekend coverage, with shifts scheduled as late as 8:00 PM.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) standards.
- Prepare patients for appointments and procedures, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and injections within scope of practice.
- Assist physicians with minor procedures (e.g., wound care, suture removal, immunizations).
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control (IPAC) and workplace safety standards.
- Support clinic operations by restocking supplies, monitoring equipment, and maintaining exam rooms.
- Perform job duties that may include prolonged screen time, bending, reaching, and lifting to 25 lbs.
Qualifications
- Current registration in good standing with the CNO.
- Completion of a recognized Practical Nursing program.
- CPR & First Aid certification (BLS-HCP preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in an outpatient, urgent care, or primary care setting (preferred).
- Strong communication, organizational, and assessment skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
- Weekend availability is required.
- Experience in a walk-in clinic, family practice, or multidisciplinary environment is an asset.

Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to employment.
- Completion of required onboarding and training modules.
