Job Description
As a Sales Associate, you will participate in a structured rotational program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the wholesale distribution business. Throughout the program, you will gain practical experience in warehouse operations, customer service, sales, purchasing, inventory management, logistics, project management, and business operations.
Rather than simply learning each department, you'll develop the leadership, analytical, and business skills necessary to become a future leader within the organization. You'll work closely with experienced managers, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help improve the processes that drive our business forward.
Program Phases
Phase 1 – Warehouse & Logistics
Build a strong operational foundation by learning our products, warehouse systems, inventory processes, shipping and receiving, and the flow of products from supplier to customer.
You'll learn to:
- Understand product applications and specifications
- Receive, stock, and pick inventory accurately
- Coordinate shipping and logistics
- Develop knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations
- Appreciate the importance of operational excellence in customer satisfaction
Phase 2 – Operations & Customer Experience
Develop a thorough understanding of the daily operations that support our customers and business.
Responsibilities include:
- Customer service and counter sales
- Order processing and fulfillment
- Inventory and pricing management
- Vendor coordination
- Credit and financial processes
- Branch operations and workflow improvement
Phase 3 – Inside Sales & Project Management
Expand your commercial knowledge by supporting customers and managing projects from quotation through completion.
You'll:
- Prepare quotations and product solutions
- Support contractors, engineers, and builders
- Coordinate large commercial and residential projects
- Build technical product knowledge
- Develop consultative selling skills
Phase 4 – Outside Sales & Business Development
Learn how to build lasting customer relationships while driving business growth.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing new business opportunities
- Managing existing customer accounts
- Conducting customer visits and job site meetings
- Negotiating contracts and pricing
- Collaborating with suppliers and vendor partners
- Identifying market opportunities and competitive advantages
Phase 5 – Leadership Development
Leverage your experience from each department to determine your long-term career path while taking on greater responsibility.
During this phase you'll:
- Lead cross-functional projects
- Analyze business performance and operational data
- Recommend process improvements
- Work directly with senior leadership
- Develop strategic planning and decision-making skills
- Prepare for future opportunities in branch management, sales leadership, operations, or other leadership roles
Qualifications

- College diploma or university degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated leadership experience through work, school, athletics, or community involvement is considered an asset
