Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in a Full Time / Permanent capacity in Ucluelet, British Columbia. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience in maintenance tasks. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and repair.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs promptly to minimize downtime
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform maintenance tasks effectively
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and upgrades
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all maintenance activities
- Respond quickly to emergency repair requests to support continuous operations
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all times
Experience
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role in an industrial or manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose issues accurately
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Familiarity and experience with electrical systems, plumbing and Welding is a plus
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Prior experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is advantageous
