Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Starting Salary: $55,000/annually

What you will get to do:
1. Assist in the implementation and delivery of the Quality Assurance (QA) program for example:
- Monitor chick temp day of Hatch from Hatcher to holding room.
- Monitor grade outs from hatch.
- Collect and ship fluff samples.
- Assist with Quality Assurance SOP development and training.
- Participate in education and training for Hatchery QA and incubation.
- Perform Hatchery QA testing as requested or required
- Maintain careful, accurate and methodical technique with strict attention to procedure.
2. Support the QA program and control of the Hatchery measurements and variances.
- Perform measurements and procedures including the egg residue breakouts, various temperature readings, and visual quality checks.
- Take frequent chick temperatures.
- Assist in egg temperature readings.
- Measure and report on micro testing as required
3. Provide recommendations to management on opportunities for improvement
- Be the knowledge resource for the breakout program.
- Report and review tasks for improvement.
- Support analysis & troubleshooting of Hatchery measurements and variances for continuous improvement.
4. Administration
- Assist in gathering any required samples for submission to Animal Health Lab or Laboratory at Port Hope Hatchery.
- Maintain paper and computerized records associated with QA program.
- Maintain and ensure that documentation is correct and recorded.
5. Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
