Position Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven Production Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing floor. In this role, you will lead daily pressroom operations across both flexographic and digital lines while actively preparing to advance—with high performers expected to step into the Production Manager role within a 3 to 5 year growth trajectory.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: Prior hands-on experience in the printing industry is strictly mandatory. Candidates without direct experience in label printing, flexography, or digital press operations will not be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Supervision & Floor Leadership
- Daily Floor Operations: Direct and oversee daily pressroom activities (Flexo & Digital) to ensure production targets, efficiency goals, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Scheduling & Workflow: Coordinate press schedules, job staging, ink/plate preparation, and substrate allocation to minimize downtime and setup transitions.
- Quality Assurance: Enforce strict QA/QC protocols to ensure color matching, registration, and finishing meet exact client specifications.
- Team Management: Direct, mentor, and train press operators and floor personnel; manage attendance, performance reviews, and pressroom safety protocols.
- Troubleshooting: Act as the primary escalation point for mechanical, prepress, or material issues on the press floor.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal departments (Prepress, Sales, Supply Chain) to identify workflow bottlenecks, reduce material waste, and optimize press throughput.
Qualifications & SkillsMandatory (Must-Have):
- Direct Printing Industry Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in a label printing or web converting environment (Required).
- Technical Printing Knowledge: Demonstrated operational familiarity with Flexographic printing (narrow web, ink management, die-cutting) and/or Digital label printing presses (Required).
- Leadership Experience: 2+ years leading, supervising, or acting as a senior lead operator in a print manufacturing plant.
Secondary & Preferred Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills for print defects and machine setup.
- Clear, effective communication skills to bridge press operators, management, and administrative teams.
- Working knowledge of print ERP/MIS software (e.g., Label Traxx, EFI, Cerm, or similar).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement methods is a plus.
