Job Overview
We are seeking a Construction & Facilities Manager for Yummy Market Inc. to oversee the design, construction, and ongoing maintenance of our retail and office spaces. In this dual-focus role, you will act as both Project Manager and Site Superintendent, managing everything from individual store renovations to new commercial developments, landlord relations, and facilities operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Project & Site Management: Oversee on-site construction, general contractors, and project timelines from pre-construction to store opening.
- Facilities & Asset Management: Develop preventative maintenance schedules, asset tracking systems, and operational SOPs for all equipment and facilities.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Manage project costs, forecasting, invoicing, and tenant allowances to ensure projects land on time and under budget.
- Construction & Compliance: Review architectural/engineering drawings and collaborate with government officials to secure permits and ensure building code/safety compliance.
- Stakeholder/People Leadership: Partner with operating teams and executives, lead the store opening process, and present regular progress updates to the Executive Committee.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education, Certification & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Technology, or Architectural Technology.
- 3–10 years in retail, commercial, or restaurant construction and facilities management.
- Valid WHMIS certificate.
Key Skills & Expertise
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from design to store opening.
- Process Development: Ability to build and implement Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) for facility processes.
- Technical Savvy: Proficient in construction management software, methodologies, and interpreting architectural drawings.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experienced in navigating city/town planning and permitting processes.
Job Requirements
- Mobility: Reliable transportation for regular travel between offices, stores, and construction sites.
- Physical Ability: Capacity to walk/stand for extended periods on-site as required.
- Languages (Asset): Fluency in an Eastern European language is an asset.

Pay: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
