Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join our commercial refrigeration manufacturing team. As part of our new company under the BC Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP), applicants must be Canadian Permanent Residents or Citizens. This role is primarily based in our manufacturing facility and focuses on the fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components for commercial refrigeration condensing units and related sheet metal ductwork. The successful candidate will work with CNC machinery and other sheet metal fabrication tools to produce high-quality components to precise engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components for commercial refrigeration condensing units.
- Manufacture sheet metal ductwork and related components to design specifications.
- Set up and operate CNC sheet metal machinery to cut, bend, form, and shape sheet metal with accuracy.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical documents for fabrication projects.
- Perform quality inspections on fabricated parts to ensure compliance with engineering and safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and production team members to ensure fabrication schedules and requirements are met.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within the manufacturing facility.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, including correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers regarding progress, challenges, and workflow improvements.
Requirements
- Canadian Permanent Resident or Canadian Citizen status (mandatory under BCPNP requirements).
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience in commercial sheet metal fabrication.
- Experience operating CNC sheet metal machinery.
- Proficient in measuring, cutting, bending, and forming sheet metal components.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical manuals.
- Welding and fabrication experience relevant to sheet metal manufacturing is an asset.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
