Saint Germain Bakery is a busy Asian-style bakery originating from Vancouver. Our pastry chefs incorporate many different styles of buns, breads, cakes and other treats into our daily menu. The Baker's responsibility will be to bake buns, pastries and other products fresh everyday as needed. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about baking breads and buns and will show skill in the organization and preparation of a daily baking routine. Preference will be given to those with previous experience and/or bakery education and who can speak both Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) and English. Must have valid SIN number. Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
Responsibilities include:
- Baking regular bakery items according to established bakery standards
- Using proper kitchen safety protocols in regards to food preparation (storage, preparation, etc) and equipment usage
- Ensuring the utmost freshness and quality of all products; maintaining a FIFO system to keep track of products
- Keeping station neat and tidy, and cleaning up your station before the end of your shift
- Assisting other departments when needed
- Communicating with coworkers and management
