The Role
PQC is hiring a Project Coordinator at our Vernon, BC head office. You'll work alongside our existing Coordinator/Estimator, our Project Managers, and ownership, supporting project execution across multiple concurrent jobs and helping run the office systems that keep our work moving. Because PQC is a small company, this role also picks up safety administration and new hire onboarding.
This role suits someone organized, detail-driven, and comfortable wearing several hats in a small-company environment.
What You'll Do
Project Coordination
- Support Project Managers and our existing Coordinator/Estimator across multiple concurrent projects
- Maintain project files: drawings, IFCs/revisions, RFIs, change orders, submittals, client correspondence
- Collect and track Daily Work Reports (DWRs), production logs, equipment mobilization/demob
- Coordinate tools, equipment, materials, and rentals — sourcing, POs, deliveries
- Help identify and document customer changes against contract scope
- Support Finance with accurate project data for client invoicing
- Prepare weekly project updates for PMs and clients
- Learn VP Command (project accounting) and use Asana, SiteDocs, and AUTOsist day-to-day
Safety & Compliance Support
- Help administer PQC's safety management system: SiteDocs reports, FLRAs, toolbox talks, inspections
- Verify worker orientations, tickets, and certifications before site mobilization; track expirations and recertifications
- Maintain safety records for workers and subcontractors; submit client safety packages on time
- Support compliance with WorkSafeBC, BCCSA COR, BC Forest Safe, and CWB (CSA W47.1) requirements
Onboarding & HR Support
- Coordinate new hire onboarding paperwork, orientations, PPE and tool issue
- Maintain employee files and training records
- Support hiring administration as directed
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years in construction project coordination, project administration, or a related role
- Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); willingness to learn Asana, AUTOsist, and VP Command
- Ability to read drawings, specs, and contracts at a basic level
- Familiarity with safety platforms (SiteDocs or similar) and WorkSafeBC/COR an asset
- Detail-oriented, able to juggle multiple projects without dropping balls
- Comfortable working with both field crews and office staff
- Valid BC driver's license
Assets
- Diploma or certificate in Construction Management or a related discipline
- Occupational Health & Safety certificate or diploma
- Trades background (welding, millwright, ironworker, or similar)
- Construction industry experience in structural steel, millwright, mechanical, or heavy industrial
- Familiarity with CWB welding compliance or BC Boiler & Pressure Vessel requirements
