Reporting directly to the Manager of Community programs, the Yoga Instructor will include the following:
- Deliver chair yoga class for one hour twice a week including prep time, and check-in's with the team and manager
- Ensure the safety of participants during exercise, adapt programming and exercise to meet mobility and capability levels,
- Respond appropriately to emergency and first aid incidents
- Build community relationships with participants to create belonging long-term relationships
- Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal support
- Function as a positive role model by demonstrating YMCA core values (honesty, caring, inclusiveness, responsibility, respect).
We'd love to hear from people with:
- A valid health and exercise certification including: Yoga Instructor courses 100hr/200hr, BCRPA and CFES, CSEP
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle
- Experience teaching yoga and chair yoga is an asset
- Communication skills and experience working with seniors
