So what’s this role all about?
The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the day to day maintenance and operation of the Home Office facilities. This position works to keep buildings, equipment, and systems operating safely and efficiently.
You’ll fit in great if you:
- Perform routine building maintenance, including minor plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and to a consistent standard
- Conduct regular facility inspections to proactively identify, assess, and resolve maintenance and safety issues
- Help to maintain lighting, doors, locks, and other building components in reliable working condition
- Repair or replace damaged equipment, fixtures, furnishings, and building materials
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations, providing consistent service under varying priorities
- Assist with vendor-managed preventative maintenance programs and scheduled servicing, ensuring tasks are completed thoroughly and on schedule
- Maintain, organize, and account for tools, equipment, and maintenance inventory to ensure readiness an operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety policies and building regulations
- Provide timely and reliable access and support for external contractors performing specialized repairs
- Manage keys and locks for Home Office and Distribution Centre with a high level of accuracy, discretion, and accountability
- Support facility construction, renovation, and improvement projects
- Provide after-hours emergency response as required, addressing urgent facility issues and supporting continuous, reliable operations

A few other things we’re looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary, technical, or trade training an asset)
- 2–5 years of experience in building operations, general maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a similar role
- Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry
- Ability to troubleshoot, assess and independently resolve minor mechanical or facility-related issues
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, yard maintenance equipment, and warehouse equipment (e.g., floor scrubber, pressure washer, air compressor)
- Experience supporting preventative maintenance programs an asset
- Knowledge of building safety codes and regulations an asset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., perform physically demanding tasks, and work at heights
- Strong team-oriented mindset, but capable of working independently and taking initiative when needed, and providing consistent follow through on assigned responsibilities
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tickets, reporting, and emails
- Valid driver’s license
