Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in a busy restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation. A background in restaurant management, supervising experience, and familiarity with food handling and POS systems such as Micros POS are essential. Previous hotel or hospitality experience, including barista or serving roles, is a plus. The Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage kitchen staff by recruiting, interviewing, training, scheduling, and providing ongoing leadership and support.
- Oversee food safety compliance by maintaining proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices in accordance with health regulations.
- Utilize POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales tracking.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow and excellent customer experiences.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to prevent shortages or waste.
- Implement and uphold restaurant policies related to food safety, cleanliness, and hospitality standards.
- Lead by example in delivering outstanding customer service and fostering a positive team environment.
- Address customer concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Assist in menu planning and development based on industry trends and customer preferences.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with restaurant management systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to interview, train, motivate, and lead staff effectively.
- Experience with cash handling and operating POS systems confidently.
- Background in hospitality or hotel management is advantageous.
- Previous barista or serving experience is a plus for understanding diverse guest needs.
