Shelby's is looking for a dedicated Line Cook for a Middle Eastern Fast Food restaurant chain in Scarborough(Lawrence road).
The schedule timing for this role is mentioned below:-
10am to 5pm
5pm to 1am
10pm to 3am
(Must be able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends)
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, seasoning meat and storing food
- Cook and plate menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Recommending ideas for specials or seasonal dishes
- Taking orders from wait staff or computerized system
- Ensuring each guest order has the correct food and sides
- Assisting other cooks in preparing food or helping other team members when needed
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Line Cook or relevant position in the food industry
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Physical endurance to stand for an entire shift
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks
- Able to quickly memorize complex or multiple orders
- High school degree or equivalent
- Previous experience as a waiter, cook, or relevant work experience
- Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more
- Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through shift
