A Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial regulations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining employee trust by ensuring all compensation, deductions, and reporting are handled with precision and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule using ADP Workforce Now
- Review, validate, and manage employee timecards, resolving discrepancies and exceptions in a timely manner
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including compensation, direct deposit details, benefits, and tax information
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial regulations, including payroll taxes, garnishments, and employment standards (Ontario and British Columbia)
- Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and year-end T4s
- Reconcile payroll data and support reporting requirements for Finance and Accounting teams
- Administer employee benefits and group RRSP programs, ensuring accurate deductions and contributions
- Prepare and reconcile remittances, including WSIB and Employer Health Tax (EHT)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, providing clear and timely resolution to employee concerns
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure secure handling of sensitive payroll and employee information
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3–5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-provincial environment
- Payroll certification (e.g., PCP or CPP) is considered an asset
- Proficiency with payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP)

Pay: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
