Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Prepper who will be responsible for a wide range of shop and field-related tasks supporting abrasive blasting and coating operations.
Key Responsibilities
At a minimum, the successful candidate will be able to:
- Adhere to all safety procedures, shop discipline, and housekeeping standards
- Mix and thin paint products according to technical data sheets, without supervision
- Identify areas requiring repair, touch-ups, masking, and preparation for blasting and painting
- Operate shop and field equipment including cranes, forklifts, loaders, and manlifts (as qualified)
- Load and unload jobs and equipment using cranes safely and efficiently
- Back up large trailers into shop spaces
- Recognize required tools, equipment, and materials for both shop and field work
- Travel to job sites and complete assigned tasks independently
- Perform quality touch-ups and repairs
- Use handheld power tools such as grinders, sanders, and related equipment
- Demonstrate proper rigging and safe handling of materials
- Complete required shop and site documentation accurately
- Interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications (entry-level acceptable)
- Identify cleaning and prepping requirements, including areas requiring detailed attention
- Comply with all Occupational Health & Safety standards and company HSE policies
- Lift between 20–50 lbs, depending on task requirements
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Required Qualifications
- CSTS 2020 certification
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Assets (Preferred but Not Required)
- High school diploma
- Experience with industrial blasting or spray applications
- NACE-level training
- Certifications in fall protection, elevated work platforms, overhead crane, rigging, confined space, and/or H2S
- Previous construction or industrial work experience
- CPR/First Aid or other safety-related certifications
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 56 per week
