Agueci Calabretta is a boutique law firm focused on debtor/creditor law with an emphasis on mortgage enforcement and real estate transactions for financial institutions. Working with lawyers and law clerks, our team is well equipped to address any real estate matters, from simple closings of purchases, sales, mortgages, and refinances, to acting on behalf of institutional mortgage and private lenders.
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for an experienced Litigation Law Clerk for a full-time position to join our dynamic and growing firm in servicing our financial institution clients. This mid-level position will focus primarily on mortgage enforcement matters while supporting general litigation files. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare legal documents including motions, affidavits, and correspondence related to mortgage enforcement actions;
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documentation is properly filed and easily accessible;
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, financial institutions, and court staff to schedule hearings;
- Prepare bills of costs and assist with file administration and billing matters;
- Coordinate document production and manage the discovery process, if required;
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide case updates under lawyer supervision; and
- Prepare correspondence to lender clients regarding the status of mortgage enforcement proceedings.
Skills:
- Law Clerk Diploma from an accredited institution (preferred) Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a litigation law clerk;
- Experience with mortgage enforcement is a strong asset;
- Proficiency in legal practice management software;
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Superior organizational and time management abilities;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
