ROLE SUMMARY:

The Flex Associate is a multi-skilled team member responsible for supporting the daily operations of both the Petro-Canada service station and the Tim Hortons kiosk. This role is designed for individuals who enjoy variety in their workday and are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. Flex Associates are cross-trained to perform front counter food service, retail cashier, convenience store sales, and fuel service duties, allowing them to move between departments as business needs require.
Working in a fast-paced environment, the Flex Associate creates a positive customer experience by providing friendly, efficient service while maintaining high standards of food safety, cleanliness, merchandising, and workplace safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting every customer in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner while creating a positive experience throughout each interaction.
- Provide flexible support across both the Petro-Canada service station and Tim Hortons kiosk, moving seamlessly between departments as operational requirements dictate.
- Operate point-of-sale systems to accurately process fuel purchases, convenience store merchandise, and other customer transactions using cash, debit, credit, and loyalty programs.
- Assist customers at the fuel pumps by providing full-service fueling, offering directions or product information, monitoring pump activity, and ensuring fueling operations are conducted safely.
- Stock, replenish, rotate, and merchandise retail products, beverages, food items, and supplies to maintain attractive displays and ensure products remain fresh, available, and presented according to company standards.
- Prepare and serve Tim Hortons beverages and menu offerings in accordance with established recipes, food safety standards, and brand specifications.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the Tim Hortons kiosk, convenience store, customer seating areas, washrooms, fuel islands, parking areas, and exterior grounds to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
- Follow opening, closing, and shift procedures, including cash balancing, equipment preparation, cleaning schedules, and securing work areas.
- Operate food preparation and beverage equipment safely while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, temperature monitoring, and infection prevention practices.
- Receive deliveries, verify inventory, assist with stock counts, rotate inventory using first-in, first-out (FIFO) principles, and report inventory shortages or damaged goods.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns, equipment malfunctions, spills, security issues, or workplace hazards promptly, taking appropriate action to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees.
- Work collaboratively with team members to support daily operations, assist during peak periods, and contribute to achieving customer service, operational, and sales objectives.
- Promote current products, meal offerings, convenience store merchandise, and promotional programs while responding knowledgeably to customer inquiries.
- Adhere to all Petro-Canada, Tim Hortons, company, and legislative policies relating to customer service, food safety, workplace health and safety, cash handling, security, and loss prevention.
- Demonstrate flexibility by performing a variety of operational duties and supporting other areas of the business as required to ensure the efficient and successful operation of the Petro-Canada service station and Tim Hortons kiosk.

- Are available to work flexible shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Previous experience in quick-service restaurants, convenience retail, customer service, or fuel station operations is considered an asset.
- Food Safe or Safe Food Handling Certification is an asset.
- WHMIS training is an asset.
- Applicants between the ages of 15 and 16 must have successfully completed the Saskatchewan Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course.
Working Conditions
This position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, repetitive motions, lifting up to 25 lbs (11 kg), working near food preparation equipment, and occasionally working outdoors while assisting customers at the fuel pumps in varying weather conditions.
