The Quality Assistant supports both the operational and managerial functions of the Quality Manager. They contribute to defining quality policies and objectives validated by management and are responsible for their implementation across all departments. They ensure the application and continuous improvement of management system procedures (quality, safety, environment). (This list is not exhaustive and may include additional responsibilities.)
Operational Management
- Monitor and lead quality performance indicators (customer satisfaction, non-conformities, etc.)
- Assist with internal and external audits and follow up on corrective actions
- Participate in implementing group standards related to hygiene, food safety, and controls
- Analyze CCP, control, and monitoring results and implement corrective actions
- Lead and monitor the site cleaning plan
- Participate in continuous improvement projects in collaboration with departments
Team Management
- Act as the link between the Quality Manager and the team
- Co-lead and coordinate the Quality team
- Participate in onboarding and training of new employees
- Organize and deliver QSE, HACCP, and VACCP training
Communication
- Communicate quality performance results internally
- Supervise, coach, evaluate, and support team members
Quality and Safety
- Ensure compliance with internal rules and policies (quality, hygiene, safety, environment)
- Ensure proper communication within the team and with management
- Be a member of the food safety team (HACCP, VACCP) and ensure studies are up to date
Education and Experience
- Postsecondary diploma (DEC or equivalent) in a relevant field (quality, food industry, science, or related field)
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
- 2 to 5 years of experience in quality (preferably in food or manufacturing industries)
- Experience in quality control, quality assurance, or quality systems management
- Experience in the food industry is an asset
- Strong French and functional English required to ensure clear communication (safety, training, procedures)
