Position Summary
Ethica Coffee Roasters is seeking a reliable, organized, and motivated team member to join our operations team as a Production Worker & Delivery Driver. This role combines coffee production, packaging, order fulfillment, inventory management, and local deliveries to our wholesale and retail partners throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
The ideal candidate enjoys both hands-on production work and being on the road, takes pride in customer service, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Packaging
- Package roasted coffee for retail, wholesale, and e-commerce orders.
- Operate packaging, sealing, labelling, and weighing equipment.
- Prepare and stage orders for shipment and delivery.
- Ensure all products meet quality and presentation standards.
- Assist with production schedules and daily workflow.
Delivery & Customer Service
- Deliver coffee, equipment, and supplies to wholesale and retail clients throughout the GTA.
- Ensure deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Represent Ethica Coffee Roasters professionally during client interactions.
- Collect and verify delivery documentation when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of company vehicles.
- Report any vehicle maintenance or safety concerns.
Roasting Support
- Assist with green coffee preparation and roasting workflows.
- Load and unload coffee from roasting and cooling equipment.
- Support sample roasting, cupping preparation, and quality control activities.
- Maintain accurate production records.
Inventory & Warehouse
- Receive, organize, and store green coffee, roasted coffee, and packaging materials.
- Conduct inventory counts and report shortages or discrepancies.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures.
- Keep storage and production areas organized and efficient.
Facility Maintenance & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the production facility.
- Follow food safety and workplace safety standards.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of production equipment.
- Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario G-Class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in delivery, warehousing, food production, or coffee operations is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Dependable, punctual, and customer-service oriented.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer and smartphone skills.
- Passion for coffee and willingness to learn about specialty coffee production.
Working Conditions
- Combination of warehouse, production, and driving responsibilities.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and movement of coffee and equipment.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Driving throughout the GTA in various weather conditions.
- Exposure to warm temperatures, noise, and coffee dust within a production environment.
