The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Innovation and Technology Enablement, this role is responsible for the hands-on development of a resident engagement application prototype using modern AI-assisted and rapid development tools. The objective is to validate a scalable product concept through iterative delivery. Approximately 90% of the role is focused on prototype development, while 10% supports administration and enhancement of an existing platform.
Key Accountabilities
Prototype Development (Primary – ~90%)
- Design, build, and iterate a resident engagement application prototype
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Replit)
- Develop UI, workflows, and integrations
- Iterate rapidly based on stakeholder and user feedback
Solution Design & Technical Direction
- Recommend tools and frameworks for rapid development
- Balance speed with maintainability and security
- Prepare prototype for enterprise scalability
Testing, Validation & Iteration
- Test application features and workflows
- Identify defects and usability improvements
- Support pilot deployments and feedback sessions
Platform Administration (Secondary – ~10%)
- Support administration of an existing platform
- Troubleshoot issues and implement minor enhancements
- Work with vendors and stakeholders to maintain stability
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
- Document architecture, workflows, and design decisions
- Maintain development notes and technical documentation
- Support transition planning to enterprise-scale build
Qualifications
Education
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Equivalent practical experience will be considered
Experience
- Experience developing web or mobile applications
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Replit)
- Experience with APIs and cloud services is an asset

- Work is performed in a hybrid office environment. Occasional extended hours may be required during key milestones.
