Job Summary
Bulk Carriers (P E I) Limited is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Commercial Driver to transport goods efficiently and securely while maintaining compliance with transportation regulations. The successful candidate will operate commercial vehicles, complete delivery documentation, perform vehicle inspections, and provide professional service to customers and business partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
- Transport freight and materials to designated locations on schedule.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Secure cargo properly to ensure safe transportation.
- Complete delivery records, logbooks, and transportation documentation accurately.
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and supervisors regarding delivery status.
- Report vehicle maintenance issues, accidents, or delays promptly.
- Follow applicable transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned vehicles.
- Provide professional and courteous service during pickups and deliveries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Valid commercial driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
- Clean driving record and strong commitment to safety.
- Previous commercial driving or transportation experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and vehicle inspection procedures.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
