Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and cargo across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining compliance with all transportation regulations. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair are highly valued to support the overall maintenance and operational needs of our fleet.
Duties
- Safely operate trucks and trailers to transport freight to designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify any mechanical issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, driver logs, and other documentation required by company policies and regulatory agencies
- Assist with basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules and any delays or issues
- Follow safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents or damage during transit or loading/unloading processes
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, preferably with a background in freight transportation or logistics
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with clean driving record
- Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for supporting vehicle maintenance needs
- Prior experience handling freight securely and efficiently is highly desirable
- Ability to operate various types of heavy equipment safely and effectively
