Position Overview
SwimEase Swim School Inc. is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and motivated Swim Instructors to join our growing team for the summer season. As an Independent Contractor, you will provide private and semi-private swimming lessons at clients' residential pools throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
This flexible, mobile position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently, teaching swimmers of all ages, and making a positive impact by helping students build confidence, develop strong swimming skills, and practice lifelong water safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to clients' homes throughout the GTA to deliver scheduled swimming lessons.
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured, and age-appropriate private and semi-private lessons.
- Teach swimmers of all ages and abilities, including toddlers, children, teens, and adults.
- Adapt lesson plans to meet each swimmer's individual goals, learning style, and skill level.
- Promote water safety while creating a fun, encouraging, and supportive learning environment.
- Demonstrate proper swimming techniques, stroke development, and water safety skills.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to parents and clients following lessons.
- Maintain a professional, positive, and respectful relationship with clients at all times.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or client feedback to SwimEase promptly.
- Represent SwimEase professionally while maintaining the company's reputation for high-quality instruction.

- Position Type: Independent Contractor
- Employment Term: Seasonal (May/June to August)
- Hours: Part-Time, Flexible Scheduling
- Compensation: $22.50 per hour
- Performance Incentive: Commission bonuses available for successful client referrals.
- Location: Mobile position requiring travel to clients' residential pools throughout the GTA.
Required Qualifications
- Strong swimming ability with confidence demonstrating proper stroke technique and water safety skills.
- Previous swim instruction, coaching, or teaching experience is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and reliability.
- Patient, energetic, and passionate about teaching swimmers of all ages.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable transportation with the ability to travel throughout the GTA.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends based on client demand.
Required Certifications
Applicants must possess (or obtain before beginning instruction):
- National Lifeguard (Pool)
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification (or equivalent recognized instructor certification)
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (required prior to providing lessons)
